Estimates assume standard-height wedding cake tiers. Extra-tall tiers, double-barrel constructions and specialty designs may be portioned differently.
A smaller display cake handles the ceremony and photos, while a plain sheet cake is cut in the kitchen and plated for the rest of the room. It's one of the more practical ways to have a tall, decorated cake without paying to decorate every serving.
This calculator recommends a hybrid setup automatically when guest counts make a large tiered cake less cost-effective or visually awkward.
