How to Use the Wedding Countdown

Enter your wedding date to start a live countdown in days, hours, minutes and seconds. Add your names, ceremony time and venue if you want a more personal version, then choose a color theme or add a photo.

Once you generate the countdown, you can return to it on the same browser, create a shareable link, copy an embed for a wedding website or download a vertical countdown card.

The date and time you enter become the target for the countdown. From there, the tool calculates the remaining time and updates the display every second.

Choose the Time You Actually Want to Count Down To

The wedding date is required. The ceremony-time field starts with a default time that you can change, so use the time that makes the most sense for your wedding rather than treating the default as a recommendation.

The countdown is calculated by the visitor's browser from the date and clock time entered. The current version does not attach a named venue time zone to the shared link, which matters if people opening it are in different time zones.

The tool includes 12 wedding color themes that change the countdown preview. You can also add a background photo from your device.

The selected photo is read locally in your browser for the preview and card generation; this tool does not upload that image to a server.

Shareable link

What Your Wedding Countdown Link Includes

The generated share link can carry the wedding date, ceremony time, names and venue so another person can open a personalized countdown without entering those details again.

Your selected color theme and uploaded photo are not currently included in that shared URL, so the recipient should not be expected to see the exact same visual customization.

Countdown card

Download a Vertical Wedding Countdown Card

The download option creates a 1080 × 1920 PNG designed for a vertical format. It includes your names, wedding date and current number of days remaining.

If you added a photo, the tool uses it as the card background. Without a photo, it creates the card from the currently selected color theme.

The downloaded card is a snapshot, not a live countdown.

The number of days shown is calculated when you create the image. Generate a new card later if you want to share an updated milestone.

After “I do”

The Countdown Does Not Simply Stop at Zero

Once the wedding date and time have passed, the display changes from counting down to showing a “Just Married” message and the number of days since the wedding.

Returning to the saved countdown later lets the tool calculate the married-days value again from the wedding date stored in your browser.

How do I make a wedding countdown?

Enter your wedding date, adjust the ceremony time if needed and optionally add your names, venue, color theme and photo. Select Generate My Countdown to start the live countdown and unlock its sharing and download options.

What information is required?

The wedding date is the essential field. Names and venue are optional, and the ceremony-time field already contains a default time that you can replace with your own.

Is my wedding countdown saved?

After you generate it, the current tool saves your names, wedding date, ceremony time and venue in that browser's local storage. Your selected theme and uploaded photo are not included in that saved countdown record.

Will everyone who opens my link see exactly the same countdown?

The link recreates your date, clock time, names and venue, but it does not currently include a time-zone identifier. Because the browser interprets the entered time locally, people opening the link in different time zones may see a different amount of time remaining.

Can I embed the countdown on my wedding website?

Yes. After generating the countdown, select Embed to copy an iframe snippet containing your personalized countdown URL. Paste it into a website or page builder that allows iframe embeds.

Can I download my wedding countdown as an image?

Yes. The tool creates a 1080 × 1920 PNG with your names, wedding date and current days remaining. If you added a photo, it can be used as the background; otherwise the selected countdown theme provides the background.
